"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly." - Pres. Thomas Monson

The Best Morning of the Year

Christmas at our house starts when everyone is awake. It's hard to spring out of bed when you've been asleep for 2 hours, but I tried. The kids pushed and pulled and finally got me going after 30 minutes of torture. We plugged in the lights and turned on the music and Christmas began. I love the excitement on kids' faces as they open their presents. I couldn't resist Snuggies for half price. My kids went crazy over this gift.

After opening presents, we ate our traditional breakfast of cinnamon rolls, bacon, scrambled eggs, and egg nog. Yum! Later we drove to my parents' house and continued the celebration...watch for a details in another post.

No WONDER you were up until 5 AM wrappign gifts! Look at that huge pile of wrapped gifts! You even wrap the big ones. Wow. If I need more than 1 yard of paper, I consider it a "set out" gift. You are ambitious. Actually, I know the truth... you LOVE buying wrapping paper; so the more you use, the more you get to buy. :)

I was up until 1 AM wrapping and watching "It's a Wonderful Life" by myself too. My would-be-wrappers-turned-sleepers were Jeff and Mom. You and I should have called each other!

I agree with Laurel - big pile! I love wrapping presents and generally start early. As much as I love buying wrapping paper, too, I've actually ran out of paper before and had to send Leon to the store at the last minute. I don't want that to happen again, so we start wrapping early and include wrapping paper in our "long term storage." Ha!

The pile only looks big because there was a wrapped office chair and a vacuum that beefed it up. But yes, I'll wrap anything if it uses up more paper. I love buying Christmas paper!!!

Ha ha! You wrapped an office chair? I love it! I'm so happy you're posting again. I didn't want little Ryan to grow up without me tagging along. Love Allie

I thought, "My goodness, has it been that long since I read Nat's blog?" So I checked the entry date. Ok, now I feel better! But I guess it is the middle of February, and you posted the end of January. Sorry! But what a good mom to do so many wonderful things with/for your cute family!

Love, Mom

P.S. I LOVE looking at your pierced earrings in all your pictures. Kidding!
