...He fell off and bonked his head. Momma called the PA and the PA said "no more monkeys walking on the bed". Okay, so last Friday Taylor said he was "walking on the bed" and fell onto the nightstand. I didn't see it happen, but I'm guessing he was doing more than walking. Dave said that he fell straight onto the edge and I heard the horrible sound. Ouch. He immediately started gushing blood and Dave said that he "knew right away that it was going to need stitches". Lucky for me (and Taylor), Dave has the skills and he had just arrive home from work! But getting a 4 year old to hold still for the lidocaine shots was a struggle to say the least. Finally, he said he would hold still if we didn't hold him down and if he could lie on his "sport" pillow and watch the movie "Cars". We obeyed his wishes and he did pretty well holding still. So Taylor has already had his first stitches, with plenty more to come I'm sure. Here's the before:
during: (This part made me a bit queasy. Dave put in 2 stitches.)
and after:
Dave took the stitches out on Wednesday. Much less dramatic than putting them in. No problem!
Oh, and here's a cute picture of McKenna. I had to put it in. :)

I'm impressed!! Kate cut her eyebrow last week, we unskilled people just slapped on a butterfly bandage. Healed up quite nice.
Has Dave ever come across a wound that he thought DIDN'T need stitches?
Daddy to the rescue!!!! PHEW! What a brave boy Taylor was too!! And that Mckenna is just adorable!!! I hope the walking on the bed days are over, and that they never begin over here! :)
wow- I can't believe you convinced him to stay still! He must LOVE Cars! Thanks for posting the pictures... very cool. Love Allie
Holy cow, what's with the Brocks kiddies?! I'd hate to see who's going to be the third charmer!! Tell Taylor he's a superhero enduring his little surgery.
Okay, first of all, I second Laurel's comment. Secondly, what kind of mother would take pictures of a head wound and stitches!? Grabbing my camera wouldn't be first on my mind in this situation. Love you, Natalie. :)
Taylor, You are one brave little boy! Lucky for you your daddy knew what he was doing. By the way, good choice of movies. Cars is one of our favorites too!
I grabbed the camera because I've always regreted missing the moment when Dave stitched up his sister.
In Dave's defense, Taylor did need stitches. I've never seen a wound pull open that far before. Pretty gross.
