"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly." - Pres. Thomas Monson

A Halloween Post...Super Early or Late??

This is exactly why I quit scrapbooking. I got too far behind and got overwhelmed. I didn't know where to start back into it, so I quit. My blog has sort of become that. However, my generous sister offered me 3 whole dollars if I would add a new post and you know I can never pass up a good deal. :) I don't want to leave anything out for when I turn this into a book, so you'll have to suffer through some old posts....and I mean old. Halloween, people.
We were excited to go trick or treating in a real neighborhood for the first time. McKenna lasted a couple streets but the boys went strong for almost 2 hours. I don't know why we encourage them to keep going after they want to quit...I just have to deal with the candy rationing for weeks after.
Derek was a skeleton, Taylor was a Clone Trooper from Star Wars, and McKenna was a cute little fairy.
As always, Daddy took some "taxes". In all actuality the boys were very generous with their candy. This is the only time of year when having picky eaters is a good thing for us.

Our house looked awesome. Dave said that he heard trick-or-treaters take a picture on our porch before knocking on the door. I had a cute Fall wreath on the door and hung rubber bats using clear fishing wire from the overhang. The boys helped me make luminaries and my favorite was this little number:We cut a pumpkin face out of cardboard and taped yellow tissue paper behind it. The glow looked really cool from the street. Next year we'll put one in McKenna's window as well. So anyway, that was our Halloween...for anyone that cares two months later. :)

YAY! You are back! Your 3-dollar check is in the mail! :)

I love the picture of the luminaria with McKenna in the background. Great photo composition!

I can SOOO relate! It just seems so overwhelming sometimes, huh? I've got a lot of catching up to do, too. sigh.

Love the window! What a great idea!
