"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly." - Pres. Thomas Monson

Carving of the Pumpkins

A couple nights before Halloween we carved our pumpkins. Can I just say how nice those carving kits are?! I've only used kitchen knifes in the past and it has always been an arm workout. Those little tools are heavenly especially when you are carving several pumpkins.

We let the kids draw their idea on their pumpkin and then we try to carve as close to their lines as possible. McKenna's drawing was a bit of a challenge. :)
And it's our tradition to have glazed donuts and apple cider after the work is done. (Glazed donuts were out of stock this year.)
And the final products!....

Carving tools - really? They always look so plastic and cheap, but they really work? Hmm. I should have picked some up when they went clearance a couple of weeks back. Your pumpkins are cute!

Yeah, that's when I bought ours...after Halloween clearance. I figured it was worth a dollar to try. I bought another set this year because Dave and I were waiting for a turn this year.

Very cute!

I also love seeing your dining area in the background. Good to see that you bumped the dinosaurs off the shelf in favor of some very cute fall decorations. :)
