"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly." - Pres. Thomas Monson

Easter Morning

I know I'm going to get criticized for admitting this, but we don't pretend the Easter Bunny in our house. Come on, people...a giant bunny that is capable of leaving baskets full of goodies. Really?

I hide the baskets the night before and the kids find their little treasure. They are not allowed to tell someone else where their basket is hidden if they find it. They do pretty well.

After baskets we went to church and then my parents' house for dinner and an egg hunt (watch for a later post). I love Easter!

So, no Santa, no Easter Bunny - does the Tooth Fairy even get to visit? I know what you mean, though.

Stephanie, you did not disappoint...I knew you'd give me grief. ;) And no, we don't lie to our kids about the tooth fairy either. They know it is us, but it's just as exciting for them.

My kids know fully about the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny. We told them about the tooth fairy and Easter bunny when they were little, but when they asked us more about it we just didn't feel like it was important enough not to tell the truth. You have to admit that they are a little silly. Santa is a little different--though some of mine are on to this one.

I think most of that stuff is some combination of weird/scary/outlandish. My kids know we are the ones that do it, but we keep the tradition.:) I want to know why more people don't bag on Santa. Strange old man that breaks into your house at night and will leave coal if you are bad?? Really???
