"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly." - Pres. Thomas Monson

Thank You Mom!!

My mom came to help us out on Wednesday and left yesterday. Here's a picture of her and McKenna all dolled up with her first headband! She was such a big help and kept me from stressing about three kids.

I couldn't have made it without her yesterday!! I was peacefully feeding McKenna when Taylor says "I don't feel good". I figured he was talking about the sore throat he's been dealing with, but no. After getting a drink, he returned to my side and threw up all down our new recliner and right next to McKenna's head!! I got some of his "gift" on my hand and therefore, was helpless until my mom took the baby. She carried Taylor to the kitchen and well...to spare the details...we had quite the mess to clean up. McKenna was crying in her seat, we were trying to clean up the floor, and Taylor was acting like he was going to pass out. I think it was my worst nightmare. Taylor perked up after a nap, but had another episode later that night. Anyway, I know, too many details, but I was so stressed all day that it would spread to the rest of the family. We all seem to be fine this morning, but could still use your prayers!! :) Thank you Mom for saving me!
Here's a picture of poor little Taylor. Yes...he's on the kitchen floor. That was his choice.

Our Baby McKenna is here!!

Well, she wasn't overdue like I'd hoped, but she actually came right on her due date. This was the first time that I went into labor on my own and was not induced. McKenna was 8 lbs. 12 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. We were shocked since Derek has been our biggest baby at 7 lbs 5 oz. She is such a sweet baby and we're so excited that she's healthy and so cute!

The boys are so in love with her! They love touching and holding her.
She and I came home today and here's the latest picture of her. Who do you think she looks like?

Oh What Do You Do in the Wintertime??

Another snowy day and Derek didn't even have school due to a teacher development day. So these boys have been occupied playing in their "cabin". We bought a new recliner and the box it came in was used as a slide down the stairs yesterday, and now, a cabin today. I added a few "girly" touches.

No cabin is complete without a portrait of the tenants. Yes, I lack greatly in the art of drawing. And do you realize how hard it is to get in and out of a box when you are 9 months pregnant?! But the boys loved it! :)

She's Coming!

I had my weekly doctor's appointment yesterday. I am actually progressing and the baby is low. The doctor thought I could actually deliver before Monday (my due date). I'm not sure how I feel about that, since I want to be induced. However, he set up an appointment with the hospital to be induced on Thursday if I am still pregnant by then. It's getting real! I'm actually getting somewhat nervous, but excited. So we'll get to see our little girl in one week at the latest! Just thought I'd share the news.

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom turns ** this week. (I doubt she wants her age posted here, but let's just say she is getting up there! Ha ha.) We had our traditional Sunday birthday dinner for her yesterday. Stephanie made some very yummy lasagna and german chocolate cake and I added a few side salads. This is my mom leading us in "Happy Birthday". See where I get my silliness from??

Happy Birthday Mom! We all love you!

Cute Boys

So the boys said some cute things today, and since this is my only form of journal writing, I thought I would post them.

We were sitting at the dinner table and Dave asked Taylor who his best friend was. Taylor replied "Mommy". I said "aww" and gave him a kiss. Derek chimed in "me too, she's mine too!". Then Derek says "but the right answer is Jesus and Heavenly Father". Good answers!

I think our frugal lifestyle is definitely rubbing off on Derek (whether that is good or bad). Tonight I left the boys with Dave while I went grocery shopping. As I was walking out the door Derek yelled from the top of the stairs, "buy donuts if they are on sale!" It just cracked me up that he added the "if they are on sale" part. He knows me too well. Needless to say, I bought the donuts. :) Who can pass up the Macey's 4 for $1.00 deal! :)

A Little Guess?

Just for fun...when do you think the baby will arrive? Post your guess as a comment and include the date and time that you think the baby will be born. Good luck!
