"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly." - Pres. Thomas Monson

Happy 4th of July!

We hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! Here's a little of our day:

Derek was set on seeing a parade so we decided to brave the crowds to grant his wish. We went to Provo's Freedom Festival parade.

We were lucky to find a front row spot, however as you can see, those across the street were even more lucky to get the shade! It was a hot day and the kids were melting, but they insisted on staying until the end.

After the parade the boys played in the neighborhood wading pool with some friends. Then a group gathered outside and let off about $100 worth of fireworks. Derek was quite the looker with this stylish glowstick glasses and headband look. After our neighborhood fireworks we walked across the street to an open field and watched the Stadium of Fire fireworks in the distance. It was a long but very fun day!

Not as good as the spot we got where we were on the news all day. Remember when President Hinkley waved to you? I was telling Josh I miss the stadium terrace days where you could go outside on our lawn and watch the fireworks, with less of an invasion of mosquitoes as here. And then maybe play a round or two of volleyball. Ahhh the good ol days. But Im sure someday Ill say the same thing about these days right?
