"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly." - Pres. Thomas Monson

My Parents' Addition

We've been driving up to my parents' house just about every weekend for the past six months. Dave and our brother-in-law have been helping my dad build this addition to their house. Dave has learned a whole lot since he's been involved with everything from the foundation to the roof. Here are some photos of the current state of the addition. It's extending the dining room and deck and adding a storage room and guest room to the basement.
I guess it looks a little different now. These pictures were taken a few weeks ago. There is now a window in the downstairs room just under the upstairs window.

I'm glad we captured them working on a stormy day. It has rained or snowed the past five weekends that they have been working. But the weather has been great now that they are done with the exterior work. Great.

I am happy to see pictures of the addition! When I left it in September it was just foundation walls and roughed-in framing. You guys have been busy! I hear there has been a flood and a fugitive bird since the addition began. I know Mom will be happy to see it all end! And I will be happy to sleep in the new bedroom... not the storage room! :)
