"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly." - Pres. Thomas Monson

Happy Birthday Dave!

My cute little hubby turned 30!! I can't believe how fast time flies. He says it was a great birthday. I had a lot of fun, so hopefully he truly did as well. Here's how the day went. His work gives their employees a paid day off for their birthday. So he was able to relax all day. After sleeping in a little, we went to Denny's for breakfast with his parents, aunt, and cousin's daughter. We sure enjoyed our time with them before they flew back to California and Maryland. Denny's treated Dave to a free ice cream dessert...thanks to my quest for something free. :)
After breakfast the boys battled with their new Nerf guns. (Thanks cousin Matt for supplying the fun.) Dave and I then played Settlers of Zarahemla where Dave won two out of the three games. I let him win of course. :) My sister, Stephanie, kindly volunteered to babysit for us. So we went out to an early dinner at the Macaroni Grill...one of Dave's favorite restaurants. And yes, I did get him another free dessert...a huge slice of chocolate cake. Mmmm. It was so wonderful to sit and enjoy each other without distractions from our children.

We picked up the kids and returned home for cake and presents. Dave has the same cake each year...Candy Bar Cake. Yum!
The boys helped him open his presents. Yes, that is yet another light saber, but this one is spring loaded. I caved. Well, the day was great because everyone was in a good mood and happy. I just love my David so much. I hope you truly had a great birthday!

I'm old. Well, technically I'm just another day older, but it is like a journey in a car...each mile you travel is only one more mile, but together they represent a large distance...then one day (say, like on your 30th birthday) you wake up not really much older than before, but it's like getting in a car crash on your journey and you have to go to the hospital and have surgery...that's what it's like.
