"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly." - Pres. Thomas Monson

A Little Update

I hope you aren't sick of hearing about our house details. I'm sure there will be plenty more posts to come. Just think of it like when a child is born and every post after that is of the cute little baby. Well, this will be our baby for now.

We closed on our house yesterday! It felt like our wedding day. I couldn't stop smiling and it was complete with witnesses, signing papers, a huge commitment, and our lender even brought a gift! I counted, we signed our name 48 times and our initials 5 times. So many papers!

Our apartment is a sea of cardboard boxes. We move on Friday and that is definitely not soon enough. Two bathrooms here we come!! We are taking the kids over tonight to show them the house for the first time. I'm excited to see their reaction. If you ask Taylor what he is most excited for, he'll tell you "the fridge." It has a water dispenser on the door and he told me that he'll "never be thirsty again". Has the kid been dehydrated the past 4 years or something?

Well, back to packing and cleaning...will it ever end??

"Will the packing and cleaning ever end?" No. No it won't. That is my opinion on the topic anyway. I am right in there with you. We move Thursday and Friday this week. :(

Congratulations again on your house! We are so happy for you guys!

Oh, the cleaning! For your sake, I hope they've lightened up on the cleaning requirements there! It literally took us a week to get it all done.

But then you'll be in your very own home! I can't wait to hear about the kids' reactions! Happy signing day!

No--the cleaning will never end. But from here on out you will be cleaning YOUR HOUSE!! I am so excited for you. It always seems like it has been the little things about a new house that make me excited. I was most excited for the garage and a dishwasher when we bought our first house. When we moved into this house, I was most excited for a main level laundry room!
