"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly." - Pres. Thomas Monson

Poor Duckies!

Our neighbor asked if we wanted to join her family in feeding the ducks at a local park. It was a beautiful place and the kids really, really loved it. And boy did the ducks love it. They were used to people and ate right out of your hand. (I really didn't appreciate that. Yuck.) They were acting very underfed and were fighting for the bread. The boys asked if they could come back again and I was all in favor of it. But a few minutes later a lady pulled up and said "did you ladies know that the park is closed for the season?" We were asked to leave. I felt very sad for the ducks...no wonder they were starving. The boys were disappointed to hear that we can't go back until the Spring. I think we should sneak those poor ducks some food during the Winter.

Closed schmosed. You can't close Mother Nature. I say sneak the ducks some bread.

Usually parks don't close, but this is the one that sets up a HUGE light display for Christmas, right? I guess they don't want people walking around messing with their set-up. This sounds like a job for Dave and a covert operation. Hmm.

Yes, they were pulling out extension cords and decorations. They are setting up for the light show....but still!

Sorry! I put my "feeding-the-ducks" comment in the wrong place! (See "A Fun Fall FHE".
