I feel like our Valentine's Day was a bit of a rerun this year...I guess that's what traditions are! Poor Dave had a horrible day. He woke up with a stomach bug and had to miss work. (Don't worry, I told Dave that he can make-up for missing Valentine's Day any other day of the year. I didn't let him off the hook that easily. :) By the way, he's doing much better today.) Anyhoo, the boys woke up to these hearts on the outside of their door. Derek woke up pretty grumpy and saw the hearts and said "where's the trail of hearts to candy?" (Last year I cut out a ton of hearts that led to a bag of candy for each of the boys, but hey, they were lucky to get these hearts I saved from last year.) :) Later, Taylor came running out and found me in the kitchen. He yelled "Happy Christmas Valentine's!" Now that's the response I was looking for.
Later in the evening we honored a long tradition of delivering valentine's and doorbell ditching. Every year we took valentine's to our next door neighbor and doorbell ditched, over and over and over. We took valentine's and a plate of cookies to my sister's house and tried to get away without being caught. Taylor was quiet for the whole 10 minute drive. I asked him what he was thinking about and he said "I am thinking about ringing the doorbell and where I'm going to hide". He was really into it. We dropped the goods and Taylor rang the doorbell. We made it as far as the driveway and Dallin (my nephew) yelled "I see you!" We were busted. I told Taylor to "run, run, run", but he stopped and protested, that "this is no fun". He was very sad that we didn't complete our mission. I gave him a pep talk and told him "only Dallin caught us, no one else, so we better run". That did the trick and we made it back to the van. I hope this wasn't one of those "you had to be there" stories. It was really cute in person.
I hope you all had a wonderful day!

those cookie DO looks good. I'd have to find lots of people to give them to so I didn't sit home and eat them all. Your pics are cute.
