Taylor made the biggest decision yet in his life. He chose to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love baptisms, but I especially love watching my own children as they make a covenant with their Father in Heaven. The spirit was so powerful on this day. We were able to arrange a special non-stake date for Taylor. It was really nice to have the program just for him, however it also meant that we had to arrange EVERYTHING. I called lists of people to arrange it all. Taylor chose who would be on the program and asked each one himself.
There was a bit of craziness getting to the church, but we made it. Dave started filling the font early that morning and returned to the church with Taylor to turn it off. The rest of us were to come 20 minutes early for pictures and such. Well, apparently the city decided to lay fresh asphalt on the main road seconds before I needed to pass over it. We needed to drive miles down the road to a point where we could cross over it. The "alternate route" was a maze of small residential roads. 15 minutes later we made it to the church that should have been only 1 minute away. A little glitch, but we made it. Dave baptized Taylor in Portuguese which is something Taylor will always remember. The Relief Society room was full of family, friends, and teachers that love Taylor and wanted to show their support. We are so thankful for all of them!
After the baptism we invited all our family back to the house for a barbecue. It was HOT and our house can't hold our big families. Everyone was kind to come anyway. :)
Taylor was spoiled with all sorts of gifts. He loved each one.
My parents gave Taylor a scripture set. My mom thought in advance and had a set embossed and wrapped for Taylor before they left. He was so excited to get them!
Taylor's grandparents drove from California for his big day. What a supportive and loving family this boy has!

Goodness....when you get caught up, you get caught up! What kind of blogging marathon did it take to do all this? Of course you are faster than I am at creating posts. I love seeing your cute family.
Love, Mom
We wouldn't miss a special day like this, no matter HOW hot it was.
Yay! We were actually there at this post! :)
